What is account verification?

The Account Verification Service enables you to check that the account belongs to the person or business that you want to pay. You can verify accounts for individuals and businesses.

Please note:

• Each verification request is charged for. See ‘Charges’ for costs.
  
• If you’re verifying a person’s account, you need to know their ID number, initials and surname.
  
• If you’re verifying a business account, you need to know the company name and registration number.

Account verification is currently only available for these banks:

• Absa
  
• African Bank
  
• Capitec
  
• First National Bank (FNB)
  
• Nedbank
  
• Standard Bank
